We had a place, a place called home
In the hustlin' streets, in the crowded rows
We had a connection, deep and dark
We had each other, and the world faded into the dark
Listening to her songs, one of her many charms,
Her sins, her virtues; Her complaints and her flaws;
Her dazzling beauty, her eyes wide blue
Her mischievous smile, grinning like a fool
Tough times ahead, I was just a boy
Words left unsaid to me, just flew me by
She was an angel, my shining light and joy,
She was the only one, I wished to stay by
But gone are all those days,
And all the moments spent together,
Gone with the wind, gone without a smile
Gone are the days we used to sit idly by
Gone is the life, we used to waste our time
The world has changed, it's just not our time
Our paths have diverged, and I took the one less traveled by
And I took the one, where smiles turned to cry.
